Another thought.... The
East Coast Greenway (you will need to do a net search for the site) is a work in process route that is piecing together Maine to Key West. More of it is completed in the NE than the SE to-date - just got something in the mail from them and would give you the website if I had not thrown it out/i.e., it runs fairly close to the coast and I don't.
