Fixed Gear- 42/16. Not too hilly in Delaware (but I do live up on top of a big hill and in a hilly part). My commute for the most part is either flat or slight hills. I like to spin though and I can stop pretty quickly with 42/16. I've rode other ratios on other bikes but I like 42/16 the best out of them.
SS MTB- 38/18. Hilly courses, I can get up most of the hills that are actual parts of the trails fine. Theres a few small but veryyy steep hills though that I have yet to conquer.
