Going uphill in some spots around here really just involves manhandling your bike and making ever effort to destroy your bottom bracket.
The best is coming down centennial fixed. Marin was built for cable cars, so it's straight and has flats, centennial has wicked pedal-striking turns. The descent will get your heart rate higher than the climb.
