And when you figure out what type of riding you want to do, that will help determine what type of frame you want.
Example: I got a Bianchi San Jose because the track bike geometry is too aggressive and twitchy for me. I also do a lot of riding out in the country and needed a more comfortable bike for long rides.
I put fenders on it in case I was riding it to work in the rain but because of the track dropouts it was necessary to remove the fenders in order to get the wheel off to fix a flat. I took the fenders off and don't ride in wet weather now.
