Bikes: 1993 GT Corrado, 1999 Kona Explosif, 2014 Cannondale Synapse Carbon 3

I've been using one for about a year on 2 different bikes without any problems. The sensor needs tone fairly close to the unit, within 18 inches maybe? Is the magnet pretty close to the sensor? Mine isasose as I could get it without touching.
