Fixie Project

Hi All,

New to the forum and about to attempt my first fixie conversion.

I picked this bike up recently

It looks better than it is - but not to worry I was only after the frame which I believe to be an early 70s Reynolds 531. Apart from the crankset (which I will convert properly) the rest of the parts are destined of the parts bin / ebay.

The wheel with Helico-Matric Hubs will end up on ebay to be replaced with some Alesa/sachs I have in my stash. Ill grid off the eyelets and the lamp mounts and then powercoat in a mid-dark grey. A Weinmann centre pull will go on the front. I have a vintage alloy saddle post in the stash along with a B17N which is due some butchery.

Bars - either some bullhorns using the existing stem or Ill use a quill adaptor and and mount a more modern but retro looking stubby bar. What ever the bar Ill fit a one finger lever near to the stem

Grips will be black to match the saddle

Will keep you posted.
