Hmmm... I suppose I've always trued using all of the spokes. Especially when truing and getting out hops. I do have a wheel on a folding bike that it seems as if I just look at a spoke, and it breaks at the nipple... perhaps it is time to rebuild from scratch, but maybe I'll think of NDS truing on it.
The author also seems to encourage using locktite. I've seen a few comments on the web, but it just seems to me like it would be a bad idea.
It makes later retruing very difficult and just about guarantees spoke windup. I just finished overhauling a wheel set for a friend that had spokes/nipples treated with some sort of adhesive. What a b*tch.
