I would like to buy this old Atala, 1962 vintage, 55cm c-c seat tube, very good original condition. How much is the bicycle worth? Here is the present owner's information package...
"The color is an iridescent gold, very pretty in the sunlight. The chrome is very
good to excellent. Crank is Campy Record 151 BCD, it shows little wear. Front
derailleur is Campy Record, the model with the built-in cable stop, VG to excellent.
Reat derailleur is Campy Gran Sport, this is the original and correct mech for the
1962 Record gruppo (the bronze Record mech was introduced in 1963). Hubs are Campy
Record high flange, original and correct. Shift levers and clamps are all Campy,
correct and original. Brakes are Universal 61 original to the bike. I don't know
what year the Campy Record side-pull brakes became available. Brake shoes have been
replaced. Rims are Fiamme yellow label tubular rims. Some of the decal is missing
on one or both of the rims. Stem and bars are Ambrosio, original and correct. Note
the cream colored plastic cap on the tightening nut for the stem -- I have never
seen another like it -- they must be extremely rare. Saddle is Brooks
(Professional, I think) with "Campagnolo" embossed on the leather. Saddle looks
almost new. Tires are some cotton tubulars that I put on to protect the rims, not
glued, not ridden. Pump is not original, the original one was white and
disintegrated several years ago (?).
I only know of one significant pain chip, it is on the "wall" side of the frame so I
can't get a good picture of it. No dents, no visible rust."
