I can't argue with this because I don't know how they work, but if was less overwhelming than the TCAS, and only sounded where there was truly an issue, I sincerely doubt drivers would ignore a warning alert. Then it would only be a matter of the driver being skilled enough to do something with the information which did not involve contact with a cyclist or pedestrian...
