Since it's a 26 incher, AND has (optional) fenders, it's 40 Lbs of 'Mercan steel. Ouch. It'll lose about 12-13 lbs during it's rebirth though. I got the Speedster (same frame/fork essentially) down to ~26 lbs.

I didn't know this until I went to pick up the bike. ONLY the 26 incher had an aluminum stem, while all the other used steel. Weird. I remembered as a kid everything was steel, so I thought the bike had been modified. I checked the catalogs when I got home, and sure enough. It's kind of elegant, sorta, so I'm going to keep it since it's also the perfect reach. I'll probably tap the bar clamp so I can eliminate the nut, and I'll replace the long quill bolt with a nice allen instead of that john Deere Barn bolt that's in there now.
