WOW! That thing is old and the geometry is out of whack due the the huge fork on the front end. It has the stance of a downhill bike even though it's a 90's FS XC bike. If spdracer39 is right 9which he looks to be) I'd say that fork might be what caused the problem in the first place. pass....
