I just picked this up for $25. I looked around online and it looks to be a mid to late 70s era. It came with a cottered steel crank, steel seatpost, and Atax stem, the rest had been striped long ago. I'm guessing its a standard U-08 or something mass produced, the serial # is B7 ****. Also I would like to know if I could just swap out the cottered spindle for a square taper with caged bearings while using the existing French cups? Does anyone know I can swap the loose headset bearings for caged bearings as well?
