Rod brakes and what looks like a Raleigh fork. The old catalogs from about 38 show a "safety" roadster that looks like your bike, but it doesn't look to have the same chain ring.



Pretty hard to tell from the photos how close your bike matches. I'm not sure about the forks on the 38 bikes.

If that is a SA hub, it may have a date code on it. If so, look at the catalogs from about that date and see what seems to match.

Seems that the post war catalogs show Roadsters having the heron chain ring instead of a plainer treatment. There is always the possibility that the chain ring is not original to the bike, even if it is a Raleigh sprocket.

Probably somebody here knows what the story is with the RHN sprocket.
