And at a stop you support yourself on the "down" pedal and come forward off the saddle and put your other foot on the ground. You don't try to balance on tippy toes with your tush on the saddle. That is way harder than necessary. It is a poseur affectation. REAL cyclists come to a stop straddling the top tube with one foot on a pedal. When it is time to start again, you rotate the pedal to 12:00, and lift yourself up onto the saddle while pedaling forward. Easy-peasy. That is my story, and I'm sticking to it.
