How about this, Stop counting miles completely,,stop competing with yourself completely..
Get a recumbent, Go out and ride it,,,,, No goals to meet no hurdle to reach for, Just ride untill you get tired.

Oh and stop celebrating birthdays, I stopped, They are a countdown. Let me check my Licence,,hold on,,,,,
Yep It's says I'm 56,, funny I don't feel 56,, I feel 30 with some aches n pains to remind me of all the crazy stuff I did back In the day....

I use Strava on my Saturday rides just to see where I went and how fast I was,, ok ok and how far,,
I also ride during the week, not as hard or far and I don't log it, ever,,
I just ride for the simple pleasure of it...

My Recumbent Is so comfortable I often rest while sitting on it,,no need to get off, Yep Its that comfy.
Oh yeah and chasing Roadies is fun btw
