Sugino specified a 3U (32-52-40.5) spindle for the GT when used as a triple (see "TGT"): http://www.equusbicycle.com/bike/sug...hure56%201.pdf

I used a 3A/3K (32-52-33.5) spindle with mine when running it on a fixed-gear, so I'd use something in between those two for a double.
