So I've been mulling over a 27.5 wheel swap on my cross bike for awhile. I can mostly think of pros and only maybe one con from this swap (tire/tube availability). But the lower BB, ability to run wider/knobbier tires all add up to a lot if I want to actually ride off road. I *really* notice the height of this bike, pair that with skinny, tall 700s and I have never had off road confidence. Even with thinner 650b tires(40-45mm) on the swap I can only think of benefits as I have come to grips with how awesome a nice, light, voluminous tire is. Much better high speed handling, more comfort, etc... Anyways, I threw a 27.5x1.95 tire/wheel on the front from a new bike sitting at the shop just to visualize the thought today. Didn't have time to get both in and ride or anything.

My very rough measurements saw .5"-.75" total height difference in these two tire/wheel choices. 6+mm aint a shabby difference in BB height. I really think it would dial this thing in for my needs.

Now I really want it. lol. (different tires though)

Compare to the 700x35 Jack Brown on the back. The front tire makes it look like a silly road bike tire.
