I rarely have more than one cage installed and just plan on slugging down extra water at stops when it's hot out. Any sloshy-belly tends not to be a problem if I'm also on top of my electrolyte intake.
Well I have one ride (70-miler) where I'd have to go over 30 miles (mostly climbs) after the final refill, so that's pushing it for me.
I'll keep that clamp idea in my back pocket if I can't work out anything else.
