It is your choice, but if you are in your late thirties to forties, it is near impossible to out exercise poor eating choices. Also, the sooner you change some of the habits, even if very slowly, the easier it is going to be long term.
I'm 35, so I'm at the cutoff.
When I say junk food, I don't really mean oreos and cheetos tho...I usually stay away from fast food and processed food as much as possible. I think most of my issue is portion control - oh burrito, you're so good, I will eat all of you. We also go out to eat more often than not, which doesn't help either. And I drink a lot. I'm not really into soda or tea, so I mostly just drink water and alcoholic beverages, of course, the alcoholic beverages tend to happen nightly, plus more on the weekends. I've been cutting back beer recently and just drinking hard liquors mixed with club soda and a bit of lime juice, which is about as low calorie as you can get when it comes to consuming alcohol. *shrug*
