Is it possible to powder coat a threaded headset?

I'm currently building up an older frame with a 1" headtube for a threaded headset. My fool self didn't know enough about threaded headsets to know that my frame needs a 27.0mm crown race and I went an ordered a super gorj purple headset with a 26.4mm crown race by accident. I'm currently buying the correct headset but the colors available for JIS headsets are pretty monochromatic and dullsville, so I was hoping I could get bits of the new headset powder coated purple.

Is this viable?

The headset I'm getting is a Tange Levin CDS. I'm assuming you can't powder coat the bearings or the washers, but is it possible to powder coat the locknuts and externally visible bits? Some help would be fabulous.

Barring that, if anyone knows how to make a headset with a 26.4 crown race play nicely with headtube that wants a 27.0 crown race with like a shim or a heavy rock or a magical sword or the blood of my first born or whatever, that would be amazing.

By way of reference, this is the headset I ordered that apparently doesn't fit (a Tange Technoglide 1" Threaded Headset):

...and this is the headset I'm now purchasing (a Tange Levin CDS):

...and this is the same headset, disassembled:
