What kind of boats? I belong to a local sailing club that sails small boats on a city lake. It's a cheap and easy way to sail without the hassles of boat ownership. Anyway, a surprising number of members have backgrounds in technical fields (and a lot bike). I haven't quite figured out the connection between technical fields and the interest in sailing.
