It is a SS strap with a plastic coating to prevent scratching your bar that fits in a slotted nut inside the bell and tightens with a hex bolt located at the top of the bell. It is NOT a band clamp, which would grind up the finish on the bar when tightened. It tightens very well w/o damaging the bar. The sound is excellent, considering its small size and that it's made of aluminum.
