- good idea for sunny climes!

- i use solar every day to power an AM/FM radio (no batteries or A/C involved!)

- here's an inexpensive panel for small gadgets:

US$10 solar charger

(the units i have cost the same, but power 3-12V and also recharge (2)AAs at the same time! (about 75mW each, but can be cascaded to provide greater wattage)
