That hub won't work if he is using a mountainbike frame. MTB rear spacing is 135mm.
I don't know of many singlespeed, freewheel, quick release hubs. The Surly hubs can be converted to quick release and I think the White industries standard ENO comes in quick release.

But if you are using it on a bike with horizontal dropouts (aka track fork ends) I would recommend a bolt on hub anyway.
