Single speed hub

I want to setup a Mt bike with canti brakes
I want a hub with quick release and a single speed thread for a single speed freewheel.

That is the type of freewheel I want to use, what hub would you use?

I beleive this one will work,
Grand Cru High Flange Freewheel Rear Hub 126mm - Hubs - Wheels, Rims, Hubs & Accessories - Components

but you should go to the IRD website and email them to be sure.

That hub won't work if he is using a mountainbike frame. MTB rear spacing is 135mm.
I don't know of many singlespeed, freewheel, quick release hubs. The Surly hubs can be converted to quick release and I think the White industries standard ENO comes in quick release.

But if you are using it on a bike with horizontal dropouts (aka track fork ends) I would recommend a bolt on hub anyway.

Oh yeah,, they have a 130mm Grand Cru High Flange Freewheel Rear Hub 130mm - Hubs - Wheels, Rims, Hubs & Accessories - Components but I do not see a 135mm

How about this one, not sure about the quality on it. https://www.niagaracycle.com/categori...cH_BoC8nXw_wcB

There are lots of good bolt on hubs. I think I would go for that unless you really need QR on the back too.

Or buy an old wheel with a 7spd freewheel hub and mount the singlespeed freewheel. Then play with the chainring position if the chainline is too messed up.

Screw on freewheel hubs dont have "speeds " they are just threaded ..

swapping around axle spacers will let you re center the hub more to the right .
which is De Dishing it, more balances tensions and spoke lengths on both sides .

want QR get a QR axle for the width of your frame .

A 10 x 1 axle is pretty common .. in hubs too.

Get a flip flop hub so you can ride the same bike as a fixed gear bike.

Re-dishing requires redoing spokes, not just moving and respacing the rear axle. that is what I did with an old Shimano 6 speed rear hub and it is ok but would like to have a QR setup so it is easier to change from a 17t to a 16t and back as I already have a double cog 16/17 freewheel.
