It is shaped like a V. You turn it upside down. One leg has a notch in its end that you press onto the top of the rim across from the unseated section of tire. Then you straddle the tool over the rim and reach the other leg across the tire. The other leg has a hook on its end that you grab the tire bead with. You bend the tool backwards and pull the tire bead over the rim edge. You don't do this until you have a but about 6 inches of the tire mounted. Questions?
