I did not know this! My normal recourse is a combination of fine steel wool and CLR and then/or just Never Dull metal polish. They have proven very effective. I gave it a go on the Dancelli, and unfortunately, the plating had worn off and the grainy dark grey steel under it was showing. I could even feel the surface level difference. Oh well. Off to paint we go!

Also, picked up an old Nishiki Olympic 12 sans wheels for super cheap, complete with rusted frozen solid chain. Hilarious. Paint needs touching up but otherwise is dark red metallic and in great shape. 25" it will be my touring/all-weather bike with fenders, rack, and 35C tires. And a Biopace triple. Haha! Can't wait!
