Ok-thanks....it is indeed a simplex dr with the helicomatic drive train. The rdr looks to have some kind of 'bands' to fit the stop. Great news as I have wheels/levers/and rdr from a univega nuovo sport-that may fill the bill. Only part then that I'll need is a 'shimano band that will accept the shift levers/they are sis from a brazed on bike. Will they fit a bolt on band if I can find a shimano branded one? Meanwhile I'm cleaning up the exsisting system. FD is a suntour-tho (triple-no reason not to keep) If I can't source the band-been working on the wheels to stay. Beeyach tho-not anodized and much mother polish consuming for asthetics
