Looks like they have a conical light pattern. Not the best.

As for the Cygolite, I have a Metro 550 and it's definitely a summertime daytime strobe light. In the winter on high it needs charging every day, so I'm back to the cheap Chinese lights, none of which has ever given me any trouble in 8 years of daily use. I keep buying new ones but that's because buying new stuff is a disease and I like shiny things.

Also IMO two lights front and back are a necessity, the two on the back always on, the second up front as a backup. No one light is good enough even if it cost $10,000 and is built to military spec.
