If the hard drive has not been formatted (or had a complete mechanical failure), then I can probably help you get your Favorites list back. Some more info would help.

1) what operating system does the old hard drive use (WindowsXP, Windows2000, or what)

2) what operating system does your working computer use. If it's WindowsXP, be specific about which version (Home or Professional).

3) are you OK with opening the case of your computer and adding your old drive as a secondary to facilitate the recovery

Also, if you tried to recover stuff already in the fashion that you see me steering towards, and got an "ACCESS IS DENIED" message when trying to get to your stuff, I can help get you past that, it's probably just the NTFS Ownership thing like usual.
