I am bilding my own touring bike.

I will probably use Surly Long Haul Trucker frame.

For traveling in Noth america and Europe : 26 or 700 wheels ??

Because I want Shimano XT shifter, I will use a butterfly handlebar or a mountain bike straight one. Do you have experience with one of them or both in bike touring ??

At last, for brakes : V-Brake or mecanical disc (XT group) ??
