The top one is my usual commuter bike - it's a 48cm 2001 Univega Modo Volare, rides very smooth, but sometimes struggles with the terrible roads of Pittsburgh (see: cobblestone streets). It's been through a lot.
The bottom one is my winter bike (treaded tires for snow and stuff), although I haven't used it as much this winter! It's just a basic vintage Schwinn, although it rides pretty nicely and the wide cruiser saddle feels like I'm sitting in a cloud.
