I know Trek aluminium road bikes had 128mm rear ends for a couple of years, so they could go both ways. Dunno about C'dale.

126 isn't that big of a deal. It just means the world is not exactly your oyster when choosing rear wheels. I'm not even sure if 10sp or 11sp would be possible. Most I've put on a 126 wheel is 8-sp.
