Though I don’t tour currently, when my wife and I were touring in Michigan and Ontario, we did loops out of Detroit. Our cross-country tour however was Point A to Point B to Point C. We were also moving to Boston, and flew to LA, rode to Washington DC (because we had a deadline to be in Boston), and took the train with bikes to our new home in Boston.

Nowadays on my long one-day rides I almost always do loops, thinking to myself, as bikenh, this way I’ll have to fulfill my mileage quota if I get all the way to my halfway point.
