I do hope you're being facetious when you say, "as long as there's no technical reason for a re-paint," since stripping the paint to remove the rust before it further damages the frame is a quite specifically technical reason for a repaint.

I'll likely post a few pics of the finished bike when it's done, so, I'm afraid you'll have to wait a while to see the results. As for what the frame looks like now, scroll up a couple of entries.

I currently have no idea what new color it will be; I really don't mind the coca-cola brown, but I'm leaning towards navy blue with a pearl/cream HT panel (not long ago I saw a really stunning Nobilette rando in those colors), then again- hey! Anything can happen.
