Frame used in salt, how to clean it?
Hello all,
I just got a free Nishiki Ariel mountain bike frame, an elevated chainstay frame designed by Richard Cunningham. It has some rust, and was almost certainly used on salted roads. Once I get out the stuck seatpost and bottom bracket I am planning to clean it up, inspect the damage, spray some Rustoleum on the bad areas if necessary, and coat the inside with Boeshield T-9. My question is, should I use something to clean out the frame before applying the Boeshield? If so, what? Should I hose it out thoroughly and let it dry outside on a hot day?
Thanks for any suggestions.
