Kueffel and Esser made some very lovely slide rules. My first and perhaps, best
was my all metal (aluminum) Pickett. Most other HS students were happy to get
one of the plastic student models, but I spent my paper route money ( ) on
this jewell. Still have it, still works just fine. Hey, they sent men to the moon with these.

The ones from Ted Post company were actually made by Sun Hemmi of Japan, out of Bamboo.
Wonderful slide rules, very nice slide action.

And yeah, show one of these to one of the millennials of today. Most of them cringe, and look
at it totally dumbfounded. They probably want to know what software it's running, or how you
charge it.

So, you know you are getting old when:

-You actually had a paper route as a youth, and you had to complete it,
no matter what the weather.

-Going to a movie and sitting in the Balcony was the height of cool.

-Some movies were shown with an intermission. "Where Eagles Dare" comes to mind.
