I know we sort of talk in jest about doing all these healthy habits and "we're gonna die anyway", however there is a lot that can be done to improve quality of life as we age. Of course we die but that doesn't give me any less reason to try to improve in areas of my life. If that were the case then why do anything to improve.

People use all sorts of excuses not to make better choices, then when the consequences catch up to them they wonder why. Our society promotes instantaneous results so often when someone goes to the MD with an issue they get a pill to fix it instead of, perhaps trying lifestyle change.
