I am not intending in any way to dishonor the dead, however, for me, Bowie's music has not stood the test of time.
I find it hard to get behind "Major Tom", a song about a junkie getting high and overdosing on heroine. I just can't go there. When I was a kid, in the middle of "the race to the moon", I thought it was a take-off on the space age. I was wrong. There are similar things I dislike about much of his music.
Prince, I never liked, so I never listened. It's as simple as that. The news played a short video of Prince playing George Harrison's, "While My Guitar Gently Weeps". The thing is, that's Harrison's music (which I like).
What pieces of Prince's music should I listen to (Youtube) which you think present him at his best?
