when I was on a rowing team I remember reading about how rowing is the only sport that causes athletes to build heart muscle. That was also the only time in my life where my resting heart rate was below 60bpm.

Yeah, I bought one of the Concept 2's a year or two before I got back into bikes. I never used it after getting back on the bike, it's just been sitting in the corner for the last 3-4 years. However, my upper body strength is a joke right now so I thought I'd give it a try again.
I did 15 minutes last week and 30 this week. Will probably go for 45 next week and hang with that for awhile. I'm pretty awful at it and only average 120w-130w, which seems pretty low. It's a completely different workout than the bike, thats for sure.
I don't think I could ever voluntarily erg without being on a crew. Trying to
PR on the erg were some of the worst physical experiences I have ever endured. Ptsd
