The "problem" with motorists is exacerbated by cyclists who have no idea, and don't care, about what is coming up behind them until there is an issue. I don't understand how any cyclist interested in safety rides on highways without a freaking mirror.
Because you have up to half-a-dozen mirrors on your truck, maybe even a rear-facing camera too, you have the OPPORTUNITY to look out for all the nitwits out there and take some action ahead of time. Otherwise the situation is akin to Russian Roulette.
