Test drive as many bikes as you can, each will feel a bit different. I bought a Sirrus but test drove the Treks up to the 7.5s, and they were also excellent bikes. Didn't have a Giant or Cannondale on hand to test, but based upon my research only Speclalized offered an all-carbon frame for the Sport's price point, so unless those were absolutely amazing rides, I couldn't see not going with the Sirrus. Again, ride as many as you can, across all different road types, and see which gives you the best ride - most comfortable, easiest to handle, etc.
