Actually not much of hwy 20 west of Sisters is much fun to ride on. I know riding the longest highway in the nation has some allure, but I'd rather ride roads that enhance the ride than stick to such a plan. To each his own, though.
Hwy-20 26 miles above Sweet Home is definitely closed. I rode up there last week and the bridge is gone already. Also, they are doing work between Newport and Eddyville with frequent closures of up to an hour during the day and full closures at night.

Hwy-20 to Sweet Home and Quartzville Creek road will get you around the closure, but there is road construction and it is not in that great of shape.
