I am looking at picking up a new lock. When I first got my new job I bought a fat heavy beast of a kryptonite to leave at work. Now I can bring my bike inside I want to get something smaller and (more so) lighter.

I dont carry a bag usually unless I have to and I dont have or really want a rack. I used to wrap it around my top tube but even with the cover it scratched the crap out of my paint and I done want to do this to my new one (yet anyway)

I like the idea of U locks but a lot of places I go its just not feasible (I have to lock to lightposts and trees) and Im still not sold on cables. Some places I go, for instance my doctors office, my bike isnt easily visible and I dont trust a quick snip of bolt cutters not to get through the cable.
