When I was racing, BITD, very rare to see another cyclist on the road, in Southern VT.
Now, 12 miles north of NYC, on any nice Saturday, I see a couple hundred, in about an hour on the road in front of my house.
Since I'm trying to improve my speed/condition, starting from a low base, I'm still riding solo mostly, but smile and nod frequently

. (My zone 4-5 is probably easy chatting speed for many). Late evening on weekends is the least bike cluttered, but then the drinks and dinner set are on the move.
Riding to work sometimes now, and that's been sweet.
