that being said, I have SKS mudguards on most of my bikes.. I make/add my own mud flaps ..
the ones I got in the 70s did not come with them ..
To cope with a low fork crown, consider Cutting the mudguard then with a DIY Bracket mount the remainder ahead of the fork.
