Bikes: Kona Kikapu/hoss deluxe mix, 1950's Malvern Star gent 28" turned into a stealth commuter with drums and a three speed.

Neither they are both pretty awful. If this your first bike then you may be unaware of what you need from a bike. Do you have a particular riding style in mind? What is more important however is that NEWBIES SHOULD NEVER BUY ONLINE!. If you buy online who will provide assembly?, you will!, who will give the bike its first tune up when all the cables have stretched in a week or two? You will. Who will tell you what all the various squeeks, clanks and grinding noises are and how to fix them?, YOU WILL! For your first bike you will throw away your money if you dont by from a reputable bike shop, not K-mart or their Ilk. The Giant boulder I first recommended to you is going to be twice the bike either of these will be, its also slightly cheaper, as well if you buy from a bike shop you will get a free service and maybe a cheap accessory thrown in for free, like a bottle cage. You also get professional assembly and a warranty thats worth a damm and you dont have to post the bike back. More!, you get good advice from people who live and breathe bikes, people who can fit the bike to you exactly and give good advice on what bike will suit you. Ignore me, buy your junker online, but never come back here and snivel about how the gears dont work or the forks have seized, the brakes have failed etc. Alternatively do a forum searchand check some bikes out, start here then look at this . Good luck.
