I just built up a 79 Pro Tour this spring, that I picked-up as just a frame w/headset.
- 57cm frame with original Tange Falcon headset
- Suntour Cyclone MkII derailleurs, with Suntour Barcons
- Suntour ultra 6 spaced 13x32 freewheel, with KMC nickel plated chain
- Sugino AT triple crank 52x42x26, with Suntour sealed bottom bracket
- Specialized Touring pedals, with MKS caged toe clips
- Suntour Cyclone sealed bearing hubs, laced to 27" Wolber Super Champion Gentleman rims
- Nitto Noodle 42cm bars
- Nitto Technomic Deluxe stem
- New Dia Compe Gran Compe brake levers
- Old Dia Compe Gran Compe centerpull brakes
- Brooks B17
- Dajia seatpost
- I used the brown cable kits from VO, which are close to what would have come on the bike and which complement the brake hoods and bar wrap (amber shellacked Newbaums khaki)
The frame came with a few nicks, primarily on the non-drive side, the worst of which is near the seat lug.
I had the same issue with needing a cable stop for the front derailleur. Since the Cyclone didn't have an integrated one, I used an Origin8 single stop under it.
