Doesn't look bad . . . yet. Hard to tell without sanding to bare metal, but that is likely not deep.

But it does need to be sanded, treated, and touched up.

I got a cheap $20 but great rotary tool from the devil Amazon. A small wire brush attachment comes with it along with a flex extension and it would get that stripped without going too far outside of target area.

Nice bike.
