I was thinking about helicoil, (that link was interesting) .

I just got a call back from my dealer. Apparently the original crank was an OEM and not available aftermarket.

They said Trek tech docs list the Shimano Alivio FC-T4010 48/36/26T 175mm as the replacement. Its only $40 bucks so Ill just swap it out.

Its also an Octolink crank so all I would need is the appropriate crank puller to do the job(other than hex's), right? S
